The main objective of this experimentation campaign is to assess actual performances of the interactive S-band link, including forward and return link. The algorithms and protocols defining the interactive link air interface for different types of services, including the interactive messaging communications and the real-time emergency communications, shall be considered as objectives of the experimentation campaign.
This activity shall implement a Hardware/Software set-up suitable to test the identified air interfaces via satellite, reproducing closely the operational scenario. Maximum re-use of the modules/subsystems implemented in precursor activities shall be pursued. In addition to the algorithms performance demonstration and optimisation, possible required modifications to the conceived air interface specifications shall be identified in good time.
