	Air-ground Router for ATM Safety Communication
	Company: Frequentis (A) Programme Element: ARTES 10 Description: The main objective of this project is to design, manufacture and test a prototype of an ATN/IPS air-ground router as the interface between EATMN and the ground earth station.ecific design and architecture is required for the AGR when compared to commercial off-the-shelf products.
	Analysis and Definition of the Satellite System Operations Project Team: “OPERA”
	Company: SITA (CH) Programme Element: ARTES 10 Description: Iris is the programme to develop a new Air-Ground communication system for Air Traffic Management as the satellite-based communication solution for the SESAR programme. Phase 1 has been recently completed. Phase 2 includes the present study and concerns the design and development of the new satellite communication standard. Approval of Iris Phase 2.2 is conditional to the Agency having negotiated an agreement with a satellite operator and/or a satellite service provider for provision of the safety communication service to aviation. This study is an enabler for such negotiations to be initiated.
	ANTARES: AeroNauTicAl REsources Satellite based
	Company: Thales Alenia Space Italia (I) Programme Element: ARTES 10 Description: ANTARES (AeroNauTicAl REsources Satellite based) is the phase B study designing a new Satellite Communication System for Air Traffic Management, within the Iris programme. It is a two-year study that focuses on the development of a new, purpose-built, satellite-based communication system including low-cost user terminals and a new satellite communication standard.
	THAUMAS Phase 1
	Company: EADS Astrium SAS (F) Programme Element: ARTES 10 Description: THAUMAS will define and start the validation of the upgrades to SwiftBroadband required to achieve Continental Safety Services as a complement to the future terrestrial ATM services being developed by the SESAR programme.
